Rating of the Intrigue card Replace. Cost 5 Action-Attack. Trash 1, gain card costing up to $2 more; if Action/Treasure topdeck; if Victory each opponent gains Curse.

Basic Info

  • Effect: Trash a card from your hand. If you did, gain a card costing up to $2 more than it. If the gained card is an Action or Treasure, put it onto your deck. If a Victory, each other player gains a Curse.

Rating

Intrigue's Remodel + Attack hybrid. Strict upgrade over Remodel ($4) with the bonus Curse-spread on Victory gains.

Defining trait: gain Action/Treasure → topdeck (next-turn use). Estate → Duchy ($5) → opponents Curse-spread.

Tier B+ to A. Thinning + transformation + attack trinity.

How to Play

Early: $5 buy. Estate → Silver / Village conversions.

Mid: Silver → Duchy ($5) for Curse-spread. Or Silver → other $5.

End: Estate → Duchy for Curse-spread + Province support.

  2. Copper ($0) → $2: Estate / Pawn.
  3. Silver ($3) → $5: Duchy / Minion / Market / Festival. Duchy = Curse-spread.

Duchy conversion = Replace's killer ability.

Duchy = Curse-spread trigger: Silver → Duchy spreads Curses to all opponents. Province via Gold ($6).

Topdeck effect: Action/Treasure gains land on top of deck → guaranteed next-turn hand.

KC + Replace: 1 KC plays Replace 3x = 3 trashes + transforms + Curse-spread. Massive 1-turn impact.

"Replace vs. Remodel": Remodel ($4) = trash + 2-cost gain. Replace ($5) = trash + 2-cost gain + topdeck + Curse-spread. Replace edges by effect.

3-pile-out: Replace 10 + Estate 8 + Curse 10.

Duke strategy: Silver → Duchy + Curse-spread = economy + VP + attack triple-win.

Post-Curse-pile-empty: Curse-spread gone, Replace becomes plain Remodel+.
