[Dominion] Artist Card Guide - Unique-Card Draw
Rising Sun Artist. Cost 5 Action. +1 Action and +1 Card per card you have exactly one copy of in play.
Artist
Basic Info
- Type: Action
- Cost: 5
- Effect: +1 Action. +1 Card per card you have exactly one copy of in play.
Rating
Unique-condition draw cantrip. The more singleton cards in play, the more cards drawn. Plays excellent in singleton (1-of-each) deck configurations.
Best feature: with 3-4 unique cards out, Artist draws +3-+4 = Lab-to-Smithy tier with action support included.
Overall A tier. 1-2 copies on Artist boards.
How to Play
Early: 5-coin pickup. First copy gives +1-2 cards, scales with diversity.
Mid-game: engine core. Multi-unique = explosive draw.
End-game: thinned diverse deck = stable +3-+5 draw.
Unique-Card Strategy
Build "exactly one of each":
- Singleton each card type (multi-buying weakens Artist).
- Singularity strategy: 1 of each key card + Artist.
- Multiple Artists: only the first counts as unique (others already have a copy in play).
Key Combos
Artist + unique power cards (Witch, Samurai, Lab, etc.): More draw.
Artist + Daimyo: Doubled = doubled draw.
Artist + multiple Artists: Second copy doesn't count as unique.
Synergies
- Unique power cards: Max effect via singleton.
- Daimyo: Doubled.
- Remodel / Craftsman: Cost-5 gain.
Counters & Bad Matchups
- Multi-stacked decks: Unique condition fails.
- Quick games: No time to build singleton.
Advanced Tips
Build a "1-of-each" composition for max Artist draw. Smithy-stack decks fight Artist's gimmick.
Multi-Artist warning: when the second Artist hits play, the first stops being unique (two Artists out).
