Hand

A permanent Village upgrade that adds +1 Hand size per rank. Hand size determines how many cards you draw at the start of each encounter.

Hand size is one of the most universally valuable upgrades in Vampire Crawlers. More cards means:

• More options for building the combo staircase
• Higher chance of drawing key cards per turn
• Less risk of combo breaks
• Higher total damage per encounter

Recommended for any build once coins allow.

Strong in all builds, exceptional in:

• Swollen Fist arcana builds: more cards played = deck depletes slower = higher consistent Swollen Fist damage
• Combo consistency builds: more hand cards reduce gaps in the staircase
• Multi-Crawler builds: higher chance of drawing all Crawler cards plus attack cards in one hand

• Poppea: +1 Hand size Crawler ability stacks with this upgrade
• Dommario: more Crawler cards available in hand with extra triggers
• Swollen Fist arcana: hand size increase extends per-turn damage cycle
• Sharp Mind arcana: mana carry-over ensures you can use the extra hand cards

• Hand size is set at encounter start; draw effects during an encounter are separate
• More cards require more mana — consider pairing with Cooldown (mana) upgrade
• At 2,500 coins, this is a mid-game purchase; don't rush it over combat upgrades early
