Wildfrost Advanced Strategy Guide

This guide is for players who have mastered the basics and want to further improve their win rate.

Win Condition (WC) Theory

What is a Win Condition?

A win condition is the core method your build uses to eliminate all enemies. Builds with a clear WC win consistently; builds with an ambiguous WC stall out in later rings.

Common WC Patterns

1. Snow Stacking + Freeze Death

  • How it works: Stack massive Snow to stop enemy counters, then eliminate immobile enemies physically
  • Key cards: Binding Frost charms, Frost Bell, Snowbo, etc.
  • Weakness: Less effective against large single units with Snow resistance
  • Goal: Aim to apply 5–8 Snow to lock down enemy actions

2. Poison Accumulation (Shroom/Ink)

  • How it works: Apply large amounts of Shroom or poison to deal per-turn damage
  • Key cards: Shroom Goblin, Smog, poison charm types
  • Weakness: Ineffective against poison-resistant enemies
  • Goal: Establish Shroom deployment routes in early rings

3. Burst Combo

  • How it works: Eliminate all enemies instantly with specific triggers
  • Key cards: Trigger Charm, Bom-Charm, Pombomb
  • Weakness: Non-functional without combo pieces assembled
  • Goal: Secure 3–4 combo pieces by Ring 4–5

4. Clunker Artillery

  • How it works: Station many clunkers at the front line for continuous high damage
  • Key cards: Booster Turret, Frost Thrower, Jiro
  • Weakness: Collapses when clunker HP runs out
  • Goal: Use durability charms to maintain clunker HP and shields

Snow Management Strategy

Snow Mechanics

  • Units with Snow ≥ 1 don't act even when counter reaches 0
  • Not acting reduces Snow by 1
  • Unit acts the moment Snow hits 0

Advanced Snow Management

Timing Control

Applying Snow just before an enemy acts is most effective. Too early and it gets consumed before their turn.

Ideal timing:

  1. Apply Snow when enemy counter reaches 1–2
  2. Cancel enemy action on their zero-counter turn
  3. Stack Snow again

Priority Targets

Snow priority order:

  1. Highest damage enemy — Units that deal massive damage if left alone
  2. AoE attack enemies — Units posing total wipeout risk
  3. Buff appliers — Units that strengthen all enemies if left unchecked

Shademancer Advanced Techniques

Shade Token Utilization

Shademancers generate Shade tokens that serve as the core of advanced strategies.

Shade Stacking

Deploy multiple Shades and accumulate buffs on your main companion:

  1. Generate multiple Shades with Shadow Knight etc.
  2. Once Shade buffs accumulate, deploy your main companion
  3. Use the empowered companion to sweep the field

Ink Combo

Applying Ink to enemies causes their INK counter to increase each time they act, eventually dealing explosive damage:

  • Prioritize: Apply Ink to ranged/AoE enemies
  • Combo: Bonnie (Ink applier) + fast companion to force the enemy to act multiple times before eliminating

Clunkmaster Advanced Techniques

Clunker Rotation

The essence of Clunkmasters is breaking clunkers at the right moment and cycling them.

Optimal Repair Timing

Use repair companions like Jiro when clunkers reach 1–2 HP for maximum efficiency:

  • Repair before the clunker breaks → sustain damage output without waste
  • Intentionally break and redeploy → re-trigger deployment bonuses

Clunker Placement Optimization

Different clunker types have different optimal positions:

  • Ranged types (Booster Turret etc.): Back row — attack without receiving damage
  • Tank types (Chomper etc.): Front row — absorb damage
  • Explosive types (Bam Bolly etc.): Center of clustered enemies

Snowdweller Advanced Techniques

Snow Accumulation Optimization

Snowdweller strategy hinges on efficiently stacking Snow.

Multiple Snow Sources

Snow from a single source is unreliable. Combine:

  • Snowbo (natural Snow application)
  • Binding Frost (charm Snow application)
  • Frost Bell (item emergency Snow)
  • Frostivus (global Snow application)

Counter Manipulation

Increasing companion counters prevents them from "rushing in" prematurely:

  • Use Tik-tik to increase key companions' counters
  • This lets you build advantageous positions before enemy actions

Bell Advanced Usage

Frost Bell

  • Best timing: Just before multiple high-damage enemies simultaneously reach counter zero
  • Combo: Freeze everything, then clean up with a high-damage companion
  • Note: Pre-calculate when it will be available again (cooldown management)

Beepop

  • Usage: Automatically applies Snow globally each turn
  • Placement priority: Keep it alive at all costs — distance from enemies is top priority
  • Combo: Pair with Binding Frost to aim for permanent counter lock

Shroomate

  • Best moment: Late rings with multiple clustered enemies
  • Combo: Pair with Shroom Goblin for massive Shroom deployment

Advice for Advanced Players

Route Selection Optimization

At the advanced level, you can instantly identify which choices on a given ring strengthen your WC:

  • Prioritize cards and charms directly related to your WC
  • Cut universally decent but unnecessary options
  • Select cards that address your deck's weaknesses

Risk Management

Advanced players take risks aggressively but avoid unrecoverable ones:

  • Target maintaining HP above 20%
  • If your leader's HP is low, securing healing means takes highest priority
  • Keep 1–2 "insurance cards" in the deck for desperation situations

Wildfrost has randomness, but applying these strategies will dramatically improve your win rate. Good luck!
