Overview
Your Shield My Liege fundamentally changes how armor works in Vampire Crawlers. Normally, any armor left at the end of a turn is lost, resetting your defense to zero at the start of every new turn. With this arcana, that leftover armor persists, stacking with whatever you generate on the following turn.
Over several turns, this creates a constantly growing shield. Each turn you play defense cards, your armor total climbs higher than it could in a single turn alone. By mid-game, it is common for builds running this arcana to maintain 100 or more armor indefinitely, rendering many enemy attacks nearly harmless.
The synergy with Shield Bash is the defining combination of armor-based builds. Carried-over armor from the previous turn combines with freshly played armor, and the resulting total fires off as damage to the front enemy the moment a defense card is played. For example, if you ended last turn with 50 armor and play a card granting 30 more, Shield Bash hits for 80. Next turn, if that armor is still mostly intact, the hit grows even larger. This compounding loop can produce several hundred points of burst damage against bosses in the late game.
Tips
This arcana is only as good as your armor generation. Make sure your deck contains enough defense cards to keep feeding the stack every turn. Watch for enemies or boss abilities that strip armor entirely — losing a large accumulated stack is a painful setback. Even without Shield Bash, Your Shield My Liege is a strong defensive tool that makes tank-focused Crawlers significantly harder to kill.
