Effect and Mechanics
Junk is a black enemy-placed debuff card inserted into the player's deck. Playing Junk does nothing — it is a pure dead draw. Its impact is indirect: while Junk cards sit in the deck, they reduce the probability of drawing useful cards and interrupt combo chains.
No mana cost to play, but zero effect on play. The damage is the deck pollution itself.
Counters
Primary Junk countermeasures:
- Removal: Use deck-compression relics or skills to purge Junk cards
- Faster deck cycling: Add draw cards to burn through Junk quickly
- Absorption: If your combo runs on 0-cost cards, Junk has less impact
- Ignore: If only a few Junk cards exist, prioritize deck efficiency over removal
When Junk appears in hand, play it immediately to clear it from your current hand and move on.
Risk of Ignoring Junk
Multiple Junk cards severely degrade combo continuity. Builds dependent on hitting specific cards in sequence (finisher-heavy combos) are most vulnerable. When enemies repeatedly apply Junk, securing removal tools becomes the top priority.
