Rating
Same cost as Gold (cost 6, +3 coin) but provides only +2 — looks like a downgrade. The "Gold per Victory buy" rider is the kicker. Each Province/Duchy/Estate buy nets a free Gold.
Overall A tier. Strong in BM and engine. End-game Province buys cascade Golds back into the deck.
Hoard + Province buy = Province + free Gold (effective 8 coin for both). Hoard + Duchy at 5 coin = 3 VP + Gold. Multiple Hoards stack — 3 Hoards in play means 3 Golds per Victory buy.
How to Play
Mid-game on 6 coin: choose between Hoard and Gold based on engine. Engine done? Gold may be better. BM-leaning? Hoard.
Hoard's value compounds: each VP buy nets a Gold, accelerating future buys. Late-game economy doesn't crash even after thinning to Provinces.
Duchy at 5 coin + Hoard = 3 VP + 6-coin equivalent. Strong tempo.
Key Combos
Hoard + Vineyard: Vineyard is Victory; gain Vineyard → Gold.
Hoard + Worker's Village / Artisan: VP-gain triggers via gain effects.
Hoard + King's Court + Smithy: KC + Smithy mass-draw, multi-Hoards in play, multi-Provinces bought = multi-Golds.
Hoard + Bridge: Bridge lowers cost; multi-Province buy + Hoard cascade.
Hoard + Goons: Caveat — Goons VP tokens are NOT Victory cards; no Gold from Hoard.
Hoard + Great Hall: Great Hall (VP-cantrip) gain → Gold.

Hoard is hybrid economy + VP-buy bonus. Flexible enough for BM and engines alike.
2-3 Hoards in play means 2-3 free Golds per Province buy. Endgame economy explosion.
Duchy-Hoard line: After Provinces empty, Duchy + Hoard nets VP + economy simultaneously.
Black Market interaction: If Hoard appears in Black Market, immediate play for VP-buy support.
3-pile end support: Buying many Provinces with Hoard empties Province and Hoard piles. Combined with another pile = 3-pile.
