Ceremonial Beast

Basic Info

Item Details
Act Act 1 (Overgrowth)
HP 252
Type Boss

Attack Pattern

Phase 1 (HP 252 → above 150)

Turn Action
Turn 1 Plow (Buff) — Grants itself Strength, empowering upcoming attacks
Turn 2 Heavy Attack + Strength gain — Deals significant damage and stacks more Strength
Turn 3 Heavy Attack + Strength gain — Repeats the same pattern

When HP drops to 150 or below, the beast is Stunned for one turn, loses all accumulated Strength, and transitions to Phase 2.

Phase 2 (HP 150 and below)

Turn Action
Stun turn Incapacitated (burst damage window)
Next turn Ringing (Debuff) — Applies Ringing to the player, limiting them to playing only one card that turn
Onwards Attack → Attack + Strength → Ringing → repeat

Strategy

  • Control the phase transition — Whittle HP to just above 150 while building defense, then trigger the phase shift and unleash your full burst during the stun turn. No retaliation occurs while stunned — use potions and combo cards freely.
  • Ringing turns: pick your best single card — On turns with Ringing active, identify the highest-impact card in your hand: a big damage attack or heavy block depending on your HP situation.
  • Don't let the fight drag out — Strength stacks every cycle in Phase 1, and accumulated Strength in Phase 2 also grows. Prioritize ending the fight quickly regardless of deck archetype.
  • Weak debuff is highly effective — Weak reduces Plow and attack damage significantly. Use Weaken cards or potions early and often.

Recommended Counters

  • Use Weak debuffs or potions from Turn 1 to reduce incoming damage throughout Phase 1
  • Stockpile burst damage (strong attacks, potions, combo finishers) for the Phase 2 stun window
  • During Ringing turns, play only your single highest-value card and skip the rest
  • Maintain a balanced attack/defense deck — purely defensive builds struggle here due to stacking Strength
  • Exhaust low-value cards before Phase 2 to improve odds of drawing powerful cards during Ringing
