Battle Charm
Basic Info
- Effect: +2 Attack
- Category: Offense
Battle Charm is the most straightforward offensive charm in Wildfrost. It permanently adds 2 to the equipped unit's Attack stat with no downsides, no conditions, and no drawbacks. Simple, reliable, and always useful on the right unit.
Rating: B
A flat +2 Attack is excellent value. On a unit that already deals 3-4 damage, adding 2 brings them to 5-6, which starts to meaningfully threaten most mid-game enemies. On fast-Counter units that activate frequently, the value compounds rapidly — a unit hitting every 2 turns effectively gains 1 extra damage per turn on average.
The charm is slightly less impressive on units with very high base Attack where marginal gains matter less, but it's never actively bad. Compare to Beetle Charm (+1 Attack, no slot cost) — Battle Charm costs a slot but gives double the damage for a reasonable trade.
The true ceiling of Battle Charm is when stacked via Frenzy effects. A unit with x2 Frenzy deals double hits, meaning +2 Attack effectively becomes +4 total damage per activation. Running multiple attack-boosting charms on a Frenzy unit scales extremely well.
How to Use / What to Put On
Equip on your primary damage dealer — units with reliable single-target or multi-hit attacks benefit most. Leaders with Attack-based abilities appreciate every point of damage added.
Units with Barrage (バラージ — hits all enemies in a row) turn the +2 into additional damage applied to every target simultaneously. This makes Battle Charm effectively a multi-multiplier in Barrage setups.
Avoid equipping on support units whose main role is applying debuffs — the Attack bonus is wasted if the unit rarely uses its Attack stat.
Good Synergy
- Frenzy Charm: x2 Frenzy means the +2 Attack hits twice per activation
- Gnome Charm: Adds Frenzy even if Aimless — the Attack bonus still applies
- Flameblade Charm: Replaces Attack with Overload application, making Battle Charm's bonus less relevant — avoid combining
- Critical Charm (Combo): More damage per hit amplifies the critical burst
