Frozen Heart Charm is one of the most distinctive charms in Wildfrost. It grants 2 Shell (damage absorption) but reduces the equipped unit's HP to 1. The unit survives on Shell alone — once the 2 Shell is depleted, any damage kills them instantly.

On its own, trading your unit's full HP for only 2 Shell is almost always a net negative in defense. 2 Shell absorbs 2 hits and then the unit dies to the next hit. This would be terrible in isolation.

However, Frozen Heart Charm enables some of the most powerful death-trigger builds in the game. The most famous example: equipping Bombskull Charm on the same unit means it dies almost immediately and detonates for 8 damage to the entire row. The unit becomes a guaranteed bomb on the first enemy attack.

The 2 Shell creates a brief window before death, which can be used to control timing of the death trigger. You can survive the first hit if the enemy's damage is 1, and die on the second.

For units with powerful death effects or abilities that trigger on damage, reducing HP to 1 actually accelerates those triggers in a controlled way.

Do not use as a defensive charm. Use exclusively as a death-trigger accelerator or a setup tool for synergy combos. The most effective pairings are with Bombskull Charm (guaranteed row explosion) or units that have powerful on-death or on-damage effects.
