Scorchberry Charm
Basic Info
- Category: Risk Trade
- Effect: Reduce Health by half. Increase Attack equal to Health lost
- Unlock: Unlocked through progression
Rating
Scorchberry Charm converts Health into Attack at a 1:1 ratio, halving the equipped card's HP while granting an equal amount of Attack. A Companion with 12 HP loses 6 HP and gains 6 Attack. A Companion with 20 HP loses 10 HP and gains 10 Attack.
The higher the base HP, the larger the absolute Attack gain. This is a pure damage maximization charm, trading survivability for offensive power. It is most effective on naturally tanky Companions that have more HP than they strictly need to survive — the excess HP converts into meaningful attack power.
Risk is real and immediate: the Companion is now significantly more fragile. One or two hits that previously would have left it standing may now be lethal. This charm demands either a fast kill strategy or defensive support to compensate.
B tier in attack-heavy decks. C tier or lower in survival-focused builds.
How to Use
Target Companions with 12 or more base HP. The higher the HP, the better the conversion. If a Companion has 16 HP and only needs 8 to survive expected hits, Scorchberry Charm converts the excess into 8 Attack — a substantial offensive upgrade.
Pair with Shell-applying allies or Block Charm to partially offset the Health reduction. Alternatively, pair with ゲキド to ensure the Attack boost translates into enough damage to end combat quickly.
Synergy
- Heart Charm first, then Scorchberry Charm: inflate HP before converting, netting more Attack while keeping usable HP
- Block Charm: reduce incoming damage after the HP cut to improve survivability
- ゲキド sources: multiply the converted Attack across multiple hits per action
- Shell-applying allies: replace lost HP buffer with Shield regeneration
