Spice Charm
Basic Info
- Category: Reactive Scaling
- Effect: Gain 2 Spice when hit
- Unlock: Available from the start
Rating
Spice Charm grants 2 スパイス (Spice) each time the equipped card is hit. Spice adds to the card's Attack until that Attack is used, creating a temporary but cumulative boost that scales with how many hits are received between attacks.
The key dynamic is reactive aggression: the more hits a Companion absorbs, the more powerful its next attack becomes. Against enemies that hit multiple times per turn, Spice can accumulate significantly, turning the Companion's next attack into a heavy counterstrike.
Spice Charm works best on cards with short Counters that attack frequently. They receive a hit, gain Spice, and quickly use it on the next activation — the Spice is not wasted sitting in reserve for too long. High-Counter cards that rarely attack can accumulate Spice without being able to use it effectively.
B tier universally, A tier in Smackback builds.
How to Use
Attach to frontline Companions that receive hits regularly. The Companion should have a short enough Counter to use accumulated Spice before it becomes excessive.
The perfect pairing is スマックバック (Smackback). When hit, the card gains Spice, then immediately counter-attacks via Smackback with the boosted Attack. Every incoming hit creates a powered-up counter-attack in the same instant.
Synergy
- Smackback (Punchfist Charm): gain Spice on hit and immediately expend it on the counter-attack
- ゲキド: accumulated Spice applies to all ゲキド hits in the next action, multiplying the boost
- Lumin Ring: increase Spice gained per hit from 2 to 3
- Peppernut Charm (ペッパーナッツのお守り): convert Spice to Shell if the defensive version is preferred
