Top 10 Synergies
Infinite Bounce Amplification
Sinner's +5% per bounce stacks with Ascetic's 90° reflection to maximize bounce loops. Wagon Wheel adds +30% per wall hit and Rubber Headband +20% speed per bounce — within a few reflections damage scales to multiple times the base.
4× Nuclear Bomb
Sisyphus's 4× AoE multiplier turns Nuclear Bomb into 2400-4800 damage. Wretched Onion also gets 4× for 24-48 DPS. Juggler sub provides precision targeting.
Phantom Relic Pierce
Veteran's pierce + Sinner's bounce damage + Phantom Relic 50% bonus. Damage compounds as the ball pierces every enemy.
Dark Volley
Dark's 3× damage fired in multiple simultaneous volleys. Veteran sub adds pierce to every shot. Each cooldown clears the entire screen.
Crit Impale
60% crit chance + 5% instant-kill + Dark 3×. Slow to assemble, but once online it has the highest single-target damage of any build.
Burn Barrage
Radiant Feather grants +40% ball speed and +20% move speed. The 2× fire rate covers the whole screen in flames.
Reflective Steel
Shield reflection +100%, Sinner bounce +5%, Wagon Wheel +30%, Steel multiplier — balls ping-pong between wall and shield.
Baby Ball Flood
Couple double-shot × baby ball generation × Cornucopia × Iron Onesie. The screen fills with baby balls.
Total DoT Spread
All balls fire at once × pierce × DoT spread. The entire screen melts under stacked damage-over-time — fully automatic clear.
Melee Instakill
Putrid Husk gives 50% on-touch instakill + Onion DoT + Torturer Mask 10% kill. Just charge into enemy mobs.
Synergies by Mechanic
Bounce Synergy
Bounce mechanics use a multiplicative damage-per-reflection formula. It has the highest theoretical damage ceiling of all mechanics, but requires setup to create a sustainable bounce loop.
Open-stage layouts and prolonged fights. Effective against large boss hitboxes.
Each bounce stacks Sinner's +5%. Wagon Wheel adds +30% per wall hit and Rubber Headband +20% speed. Ascetic's 90° reflection accelerates the loop.
Pierce Synergy
Pierce builds hit every enemy in a straight line per shot, giving them unmatched crowd-clear potential. They excel in stages with multiple simultaneous targets like Factory (shield enemies) and Castle (multiple elites).
Stages where enemies line up horizontally. Also effective against shielded enemies.
Pierce hits every enemy while Phantom Relic adds +50% on each wall hit. The straight→wall→reflect→straight loop accumulates heavy damage on all enemies.
DoT Synergy
DoT builds weaponize Sisyphus's 4× scaling on poison, burn, and bleed to turn sustained damage into primary damage. Lower action intensity and once assembled, damage accumulates automatically.
Stages with many enemies (Park/Stage 3). Also effective for sustained boss damage.
Sisyphus's 4× turns DoT into main damage. Burn 16-32 DPS, Poison 4-16 DPS. Onion 4× = 24-48 DPS. Nuclear Bomb 4× = 2400-4800 damage.
Baby Ball Synergy
Baby ball builds exploit a hit-generates-baby chain reaction that compounds with every collision. Effectiveness scales with enemy density. Known for visually chaotic screens filled with baby balls.
Dense enemy waves. Better at clearing mobs than dealing single-target boss damage.
Cornucopia spawns extra babies on each generation. Brood Mother hits trigger more babies. Iron Onesie raises every baby ball's damage.
Critical Synergy
Critical builds combine 60% crit rate, Dark 3×, and 5% instakill for the highest single-target damage in the game. However, all four daggers must be collected before the Deadeye Cross ability unlocks, making this the slowest build to assemble.
Single-target high-HP boss fights. Particularly effective against Pit Lord (Stage 8).
Four daggers → Deadeye Cross (60%) → Gracious Impaler → Impale (5% instakill). Dark 3× × crit = massive damage. 5% instakill works on bosses too.
Melee Synergy
Melee builds exploit a 50% on-contact instakill mechanic unique to this playstyle. This requires charging into enemies rather than keeping distance — a completely different play pattern from other builds. Mob clear speed is the fastest, but boss damage requires the Torturer Mask passive.
Charging into dense mob groups. Particularly effective against the undead horde in Cemetery (Stage 5).
Putrid Husk grants 50% on-touch instakill, Torturer Mask 10% on-detect kill. Onion DoT compounds — charging into mobs wipes them.
