Regent Resource Burst Build

Overview

The Resource Burst Build maximizes the Regent's core Star-and-Energy system by generating an overwhelming volume of Stars and Energy in a single turn, then converting it all into lethal damage. Where Star Stacking accumulates over multiple turns, Resource Burst assembles the engine within one explosive turn — drawing deep into the deck, generating 20-30 Stars, and spending them all with high-multiplier finishers. The build requires both reliable Star generators and high-value Star spenders in the same deck.

Key Cards

  • Big Bang: High-output Skill that generates a large burst of Stars or Energy in a single play; the cornerstone of the burst turn.
  • Glitterstream: Generates many Stars at once, the primary fueling card for the burst turn's Star count.
  • Quasar: Draw card that also generates Stars or Energy, combining two burst ingredients in a single play.
  • Convergence: Consolidates or amplifies Stars before the spend phase, ensuring the burst turn peaks at maximum Star count.
  • Seven Stars: High-ceiling Attack that deals damage scaled by Stars consumed; the ideal burst-turn finisher when Star count is at its highest.
  • Sovereign Blade: Secondary Star-consuming Attack; having both Seven Stars and Sovereign Blade in hand doubles the burst damage ceiling.
  • Royalties: Power that generates Stars at turn start, providing a head-start for each burst turn without requiring a dedicated generation card slot.

Key Relics

  • Regalite: Amplifies Star generation each turn, making every burst turn larger without additional card plays.
  • Divine Destiny: Triggers each time Stars are consumed; in a burst turn with multiple Star-spending plays, this relic activates repeatedly.
  • Orange Dough: Provides bonus Stars or effects when key conditions are met, extending the burst window by a few Stars.

Strategy

  1. Build both sides of the equation simultaneously — a deck full of generators with no spenders wastes Stars, and a deck full of spenders with no generators deals zero damage.
  2. Aim for 3-4 Star generation cards and 2-3 Star spending cards as a balanced ratio before Act 2.
  3. Get Royalties or another Star-per-turn Power early — free Stars each turn reduce the number of active generator plays needed per burst turn.
  4. In each combat, use early turns to draw and generate Stars; save the spending cards (Seven Stars, Sovereign Blade) for the turn when Star count is highest.
  5. If a fight goes multiple turns, save Stars at the end of turn 1 to enter turn 2 with a head start — burst turns get bigger the more carryover Stars you have.

Pick Priority

  • Highest: Big Bang, Seven Stars (maximum burst output)
  • High: Glitterstream, Sovereign Blade (Star supply and secondary spending)
  • Medium: Quasar, Convergence, Royalties (draw and passive Star income)
  • Low: Attacks with no Star interaction; they dilute the burst density

Tips

  • Stars do not persist between combats — always spend all Stars before the last enemy dies to avoid wasted generation.
  • The burst turn is most reliable when you draw at least half your deck in it; include 1-2 draw cards (Quasar, Hidden Cache) to ensure access to both generators and spenders.
  • Divine Destiny fires on each Star-consume event. If you play a small Star consumer first, then Sovereign Blade, then Seven Stars, Divine Destiny can activate three times in one turn.
  • Against enemies that apply Weak to the player (which reduces your attack damage by 25%), prioritize a Weak-cleanse or Block-heavy approach that turn rather than committing the burst; the multiplier loss significantly reduces burst efficiency.
