Danger: B Rank

A Status that deals 3 damage at end of turn if it's in your hand. One point higher than Burn (2 damage), which makes stacked copies noticeably more painful. Like Burn, it combines hand-clogging with damage. Infection-applying enemies tend to stack multiple copies in sequence, so a deck flooded with Infection takes escalating damage fast. Medical Kit Exhausts, or Evolve converts it into draw - both are effective.

Sources and Related Enemies

  • Added to your deck by infection- and plague-themed monsters built around disease and toxins
  • Some enemies apply several copies in a single attack, rapidly contaminating your deck
  • Status cards exist only during combat and are removed automatically after combat ends

Counterplay and Play Pattern

  • Medical Kit: play the Status to Exhaust it. The best way to purge Infection from the deck
  • Empty your hand: playing everything avoids the damage. Low-cost builds handle this easily
  • Quick finish: end the fight before Infection piles up
  • Evolve (Ironclad): extra draw on Infection. You still take the damage, but draw compensates for the lost slot

Good Synergies

  • Medical Kit: play Infection to Exhaust it. The most effective counter
  • Evolve (Ironclad): extra draw on Status draw, converting Infection's downside into draw
  • Fire Breathing (Ironclad): damage on Status draw, turning Infection into offense
  • Feel No Pain (Ironclad): Block when Medical Kit Exhausts Infection
