Danger: A Rank

A curse that makes you lose 1 HP per card in your hand at end of turn. It looks mild at first glance, but draw-heavy decks frequently overflow their hand, so absorbing 5+ damage per tick becomes routine. Runic Pyramid builds that carry cards over, or heavy-draw engines, can easily take 7-10 damage per turn. Conversely, low-cost decks that empty their hand every turn only eat 1 damage (from Regret itself). Its danger level scales enormously with deck type.

Counterplay and Play Pattern

  • Shop removal: 75g+. Top-priority removal in draw-heavy decks
  • Empty your hand: play everything each turn to cap damage at 1 (Regret itself)
  • Avoid Runic Pyramid: retaining hand is the worst pairing. Reconsider taking Runic Pyramid while Regret is in the deck
  • Blue Candle: play for 1 HP to Exhaust it, avoiding the hand damage
  • Omamori: negates 2 curse acquisitions
  • Darkstone Periapt: +6 Max HP on curse acquisition to soften the hit

Good Synergies

  • Blue Candle: spend 1 HP to Exhaust Regret and prevent the hand-size damage. Very effective
  • Fire Breathing (Ironclad): damage each time Regret is drawn
  • Feel No Pain (Ironclad): Block when Blue Candle Exhausts Regret
  • Low-cost build: decks that empty their hand easily keep damage to a minimum
