Rating
Danger: A Rank
A Status that delivers Normality's effect permanently as long as it's in your deck. Where Normality caps you only on turns you draw it, Sloth keeps the 3-card limit active every turn the card exists in your deck. It utterly shuts down combo decks and high-volume builds, giving it massive impact. It's unplayable and non-Ethereal, so it clogs your hand too. Medical Kit can Exhaust it, but without one you're stuck under the 3-card cap until combat ends.
Sources and Related Enemies
- Added to your deck by specific debuff-themed monsters that rely on restricting your actions
- Sloth-applying enemies usually pair it with other harassment, demanding a holistic response
- Status cards exist only during combat and are removed automatically after combat ends
Counterplay and Play Pattern
- Medical Kit: play the Status to Exhaust it. Removing Sloth lifts the 3-card cap. Top priority
- High-cost, few-plays: with heavy cards, the 3-card cap hurts less
- Quick finish: the longer the fight, the larger Sloth's cumulative cost. Focus on lethal
- 0-cost cards: they still count toward the 3-card limit, so the usual 0-cost advantage shrinks
Good Synergies
- Medical Kit: play Sloth to Exhaust it. Immediately lifts the cap
- Evolve (Ironclad): extra draw on Status draw. Helps replace Sloth in your hand
- Fire Breathing (Ironclad): damage on Status draw
- High-cost cards: under a 3-card cap, per-card impact matters more, favoring heavy cards
