Evaluation

A simple Energy acceleration card that produces 1 Energy at cost 0 and Exhausts. It can only be used once, but an effective +1 Energy on the turn drawn is very strong, letting you play a high-cost card one turn earlier.

Upgraded adds Retain, improving consistency by letting you hold it between turns (Retain keeps it in hand for later). Roughly equivalent to an Energy Potion in general STS terms, it shines on turns where you want to chain many cards.

Rating: 3/5 (reliable one-shot Energy acceleration)

How to Use

  • At cost 0 you can play it almost whenever you draw it (Exhausts out of the deck)
  • Great as Energy support for expensive cards like Reap (cost 3), Deathbringer (cost 2), or Revive (cost 3)
  • Upgraded gives Retain, allowing strategic saves until the ideal turn
  • Unlike Borrowed Time (inflicts Ruin on you), Wisp is pure Energy with no downside

Good Synergies

  • Reap: Ideal Energy support for the heavy cost 3 attack; Wisp gives Energy 4, then Reap (3) plus another card (1)
  • Doomsday: Cost 3 haymaker needs extra Energy to come online earlier
  • Revive: Summon 20 to 25 at cost 3; Wisp helps fuel it
  • Ghost Rite: Cost 2, discard hand to gain Wraiths; Wisp covers Energy for the combo
