Rating and Analysis
Soldier's Stew is an Ironclad-exclusive Rare potion that grants Replay 1 to all Strike cards. Since Strikes fire twice via Replay, damage effectively doubles.
The D tier rating, however, reflects its heavy dependence on Strike cards. As the run progresses, Strikes are common removal targets, and the fewer Strikes in your deck, the more this potion's value collapses. For a Rare potion, the payoff is far too situational.
It has a niche in builds that keep Strikes around while stacking Strength, but such deckbuilding isn't mainstream. It works early in Act 1 while you still have lots of Strikes, but Rare potions rarely drop that early — a tough catch-22.
Recommended Usage
- Use on turn one of a Boss fight to double Strike damage over the entire combat
- Use in decks that haven't removed Strikes to compensate for basic Strike's weakness
- Stack Strength buffs first, then play Strikes so Replay copies carry the Strength bonus
Good Synergies
| Card / Relic | Reason |
|---|---|
| Strength buff cards | Replay doubles attack count, doubling the Strength payoff |
| Strike upgrade cards | Upgraded Strikes replayed twice deal massive damage |
| Strike-scaling relics | Deck value of Strike cards increases dramatically via Replay |
