Critical Charm

Critical Charm grants the Combo keyword to the equipped unit. The Combo mechanic causes attacks to deal increased damage when the unit attacks consecutively — specifically, if an ally acted before this unit's current turn, the hit deals bonus critical damage.

Combo is a high-ceiling offensive mechanic. The critical bonus can add significant burst to a unit that attacks in the middle of an ally chain, rewarding good hand sequencing and positioning. In a well-constructed team that activates frequently, Combo fires regularly and the critical bonus accumulates into meaningful extra damage over a battle.

The key limitation is that Combo requires an ally to have acted immediately before the Combo unit in the turn sequence. In early game runs where your team is small or activates slowly, the Combo trigger may be inconsistent. As your team scales and activates more densely, Combo becomes increasingly reliable.

Combo pairs especially well with high base-Attack units — the critical bonus is a percentage increase, meaning more base damage leads to larger critical bonuses.

How to Use / What to Put On

Equip on your primary damage dealer, particularly one that activates in the middle of your team's action chain (not first). Position this unit so that an ally consistently acts before it each cycle.

Leaders benefit well from Combo since they are always present and position in a chain-activating team.

Avoid on units that act first every turn (Counter 1 or similar) where no ally will have acted before them.

Good Synergy

  • Battle Charm: Higher base Attack means larger critical hits
  • Frenzy Charm: Each hit in a Frenzy multi-hit sequence can independently trigger Combo
  • Fast team composition: Dense activation sequences mean Combo fires almost every turn
  • Spice (スパイス) stacks on the Combo unit: Higher Attack from Spice amplifies the critical damage
