Sunglass Charm halves Counter for a dramatic action frequency boost, then immediately sets Health to 1 and applies Fragile. The tradeoff is extreme in both directions.
Counter halving is the strongest speed boost in the game. A Counter 6 Companion becomes Counter 3, doubling actions per combat. Counter 4 becomes Counter 2 — another doubling. This converts heavy but powerful Companions into high-frequency threats.
The Health to 1 plus Fragile is the counterweight. The Companion can be killed by any damage, no matter how small. This is not a slight vulnerability but near-instant death upon any contact. The equipped card must either stay behind a physical barrier (other Companions absorbing hits), maintain persistent Shell buffs acting as a substitute HP buffer, or attack so fast that enemies die before they can retaliate.
Expert-level charm. In the right construction it approaches S tier. Used carelessly it immediately loses the equipped card.
How to Use
Target high-Counter, high-Attack Companions that are too slow but would be devastating if they acted more frequently. Counter 4-6 Companions benefit the most.
After equipping, the Companion must be shielded. Options:
- Place hardier Companions in front to absorb attacks
- Stack Shell-generating charms (Effigy, Block Charm) to substitute for HP
- Use formation and positioning to prevent any hit from reaching the Sunglass user
Avoid placing in a position where enemies can target it directly.
Synergy
- Shell-generating charms: Effigy/Block Charm/friendly Shell providers to create a substitute HP buffer
- ゲキド: halved Counter combined with multiple hits creates explosive damage per combat turn
- バラージ: faster area attacks sweep front rows rapidly
- Moose Charm: adjust Counter back up by 1 after halving if the math is more favorable
