Rating
S-tier Clunkmasters engine. Scaven is described by the community as "an engine for junk teams, providing a steady stream, while also hitting hard and frequently — solid all around, almost never a bad pick." His stats back that up: 5 Attack and 8 HP at Counter 3 make him a genuine combat threat, while his Trash effect continuously supplies the Junk cards that Clunkmaster Recycle items (Bom Barrel, B.I.N.K., Frostbite Shard) need to fire. He does both jobs without requiring setup.
Most Junk generators trade stats for the generation effect. Scaven doesn't. He's fast, durable, and hits hard enough to contest front-row positions independently. In any Clunkmaster run that plans to use Recycle items, he's an auto-include; in runs where Recycle is sparse, he still contributes as a raw attacker.
How to Use
Scaven's dual nature makes positioning flexible. Front-row placement is viable given his 8 HP — he absorbs hits while generating Junk. Mid-row also works if you need his 5 Attack to hit specific enemies. The priority is simply keeping him alive long enough to cycle Junk every 3 turns.
The Junk he generates feeds Recycle items directly. Each Bom Barrel activation (Recycle 2 Junk → AoE damage) needs 2 Junk; Scaven fires every 3 turns, so two Bom Barrels can fire every 6–9 turns with Scaven as the sole Junk source. Adding Folby or other Junk generators shortens this cycle. B.I.N.K. similarly becomes more reliable the more Junk you have in hand.
Without Recycle outlets, raw Junk accumulation clogs your hand. Always pair Scaven with at least one Recycle item — he's efficient with Recycle, wasteful without.
Advanced Techniques
Scaven + Folby + Bom Barrel is the core Clunkmaster triple. Scaven generates Junk, Folby generates more, and Bom Barrel converts accumulated Junk into repeated AoE. This setup can clear entire rows repeatedly per fight.
Counter-reduction charms accelerate the loop. Scaven at Counter 2 generates Junk 50% faster, which directly increases Bom Barrel/B.I.N.K. activation frequency. This is the best charm investment if your Recycle items are the primary win condition.
HP charms are secondary but relevant. With 8 HP, Scaven is already durable, but more HP means longer front-row uptime and more total Junk generated per fight.
