Vesta
Basic Info
- Tribe: Shademancers
- Attack: 0
- HP: 8
- Counter: 4
- Effect: Double the target's Overload. Barrage
Rating
A-tier conditional Overload multiplier — devastating alongside Shen, useless without Overload sources. Vesta's Counter 4 activation doubles the current Overload stack on every enemy in her row (Barrage). If Shen has applied Overload 4 to the front enemy, Vesta fires → Overload jumps to 8 → when that enemy's counter hits 0, it takes 8 damage instead of 4. Repeat activations compound: Overload 4 → 8 → 16 → 32 within a single fight if both Shen and Vesta activate repeatedly.
Attack 0 means Vesta contributes zero direct damage. Her entire value is the Overload doubling. In runs without Shen or another Overload source, Vesta is a 0 Attack 8 HP body with no effect — do not pick her without a confirmed Overload pipeline.
Frenzy charms on Vesta: each Frenzy hit applies the double separately. x2 Frenzy Vesta doubles twice per activation: Overload 4 → 8 → 16 in one Counter 4 cycle. Combined with Shen's escalating Overload application, the total Overload at detonation becomes catastrophic in extended fights.
How to Use
Sequence management is everything. Vesta doubling Overload 0 produces nothing — Shen (or another Overload source) must fire before Vesta's activation. Counter 4 for both means they fire at the same rate; use Snow to delay enemy counters and give Shen additional activations before the first detonation, ensuring Overload is at 4+ when Vesta fires first.
Mid-row or back-row for Vesta — HP 8 is durable for a 0 Attack support unit, but she shouldn't be the primary target in the front. Front-row positioning is optional only if no other front-row tank is available.
Frenzy charms are the highest-value charm slot on Vesta. Each Frenzy application doubles again. Purchasing any Frenzy charm for Vesta directly multiplies the Overload detonation damage multiplicatively — not additively.
Counter-reduction charms on Vesta speed up the doubling cycle. A single -1 Counter charm (Counter 4 → Counter 3) gives Vesta one additional activation before a Counter 4 Shen's second firing, compounding the Overload stack faster.
Advanced Techniques
Shen + Vesta core chain. Shen applies Overload 4 (base) to the front enemy. Vesta fires: Overload 4 → 8. Enemy's counter reaches 0: 8 damage detonation. Shen's next activation (now Overload 5 or more after taking hits): Vesta doubles again → 10+. Each full cycle the detonation floor rises. Against a boss with slow counter, the accumulated Overload at detonation can one-shot the boss.
Frenzy Vesta exponential. Vesta with x2 Frenzy fires twice per Counter 4 activation. First hit: Overload 4 → 8. Second hit: Overload 8 → 16. One Vesta activation at Counter 4 produces 16 Overload from 4 if she has x2 Frenzy. Two Vesta activations before detonation: 16 → 32. The scaling is exponential; Frenzy charms on Vesta are disproportionately powerful.
Snow timing. Apply Snow to the front enemy (via Binku or Supersnower) before enemy counter reaches 0. The delayed enemy counter gives Shen 1–2 more activations and Vesta 1 more activation before detonation, pushing the Overload stack from 8 to 16–32 before it explodes.
Good Synergy Cards & Charms
- Shen — primary Overload source; Shen applies Overload per Counter 4, Vesta doubles it; the core combo
- Zula — when Overload detonation kills an enemy, Zula's Reaction chains Overload to the next enemy; Vesta-amplified detonations kill enemies faster, feeding Zula's chain
- Frenzy charms on Vesta — each Frenzy hit doubles Overload again per activation; exponential scaling
- Snow sources / Binku — delaying enemy counters gives more Shen + Vesta activation cycles before detonation
- Counter-reduction charms on Vesta — more Vesta activations per fight cycle; faster doubling cadence
