Ironclad Strength Build

The Strength Build is the most direct win condition in the Ironclad's kit: accumulate Strength through Demon Form, Inflame, and Limit Break, then deal disproportionate damage with every attack. Demon Form compounds each turn; Limit Break doubles the total at peak; heavy-scaling attacks like Heavy Blade and Upper Cut convert Strength stacks into lethal hits. Compared to the Primal Power Build, this variant focuses more on immediate Strength bursts and fewer Power cards, making it slightly more reliable in mid-length fights.

• Demon Form: Power costing 3. Gain 2 Strength per turn (3 upgraded). The primary long-term scaler — every other card benefits from it being in play.
• Limit Break: Skill costing 1, Exhaust. Double your Strength. The explosive finisher; time it when Strength is highest for maximum effect.
• Inflame: Power costing 1. Gain 2 Strength. Cheap, immediate, and stacks — two Inflames before Demon Form means +4 Strength on turn 1.
• Upper Cut: Attack costing 2. Deals damage and applies 1 Weak + 1 Vulnerable. Vulnerable amplifies every subsequent attack by 50%; use it before heavy-damage turns.
• Heavy Blade: Attack costing 2. Base 14 damage + 5× your Strength (7× upgraded). At 20 Strength this one card hits for 114 unupgraded or 154 upgraded.
• Whirlwind: Attack costing X. Hits all enemies 5× per Energy (8× upgraded). Multi-hit scaling makes Strength worth proportionally more; best vs. grouped enemies.
• Cleave: Attack costing 1. Deal 8 damage to all enemies. Cheap early AOE that still benefits from Strength; useful while ramping.

• Burning Blood: Heal 6 HP at end of each combat. Keeps HP high enough to sustain Demon Form's passive drain across long fights.
• Akabeko: First attack each combat deals 8 extra damage. On a Strength-inflated Heavy Blade first attack, this bonus is significant.
• Paper Krane: Applying Weak increases your Strength by 2. Upper Cut applies Weak, so it also becomes a free Strength generator with this relic.

1. Prioritize playing Inflame on turn 1 — it establishes Strength before Demon Form is available.
2. Play Demon Form as early as possible; the compounding effect from extra turns is irreplaceable.
3. After 3-4 Demon Form ticks, evaluate whether to Limit Break now or wait one more turn for a higher base Strength.
4. Apply Vulnerable via Upper Cut the turn before you play Heavy Blade or a big Whirlwind.
5. In elite and boss fights, lead with Upper Cut → Heavy Blade to front-load massive single-target burst.

• Demon Form: Must take — the foundation of all Strength builds.
• Limit Break: Must take — doubles Strength at the right moment; game-winning ceiling.
• Inflame: High — each copy stacks; two or three Inflames create a very high Limit Break floor.
• Heavy Blade: High — the best single-target damage card once Strength exceeds 10.
• Upper Cut: High — Vulnerable amplification makes every attack stronger, not just the next one.
• Whirlwind: Medium-High — excellent in multi-enemy rooms; lower priority if most fights are single-target.

• Don't hold Limit Break waiting for "perfect" Strength. Using it at 12 Strength → 24 is better than delaying two turns to get 16 → 32 if you're taking damage in those turns.
• Heavy Blade at 7× scaling means each Strength adds 7 damage. At 20 Strength it adds 140 base damage. It upgrades extremely well; prioritize it.
• Strength from relics (Paper Krane, Akabeko) stacks multiplicatively with Demon Form ticks — relic hunting in Act 2 shops is worthwhile.
• If you have both Inflame and Demon Form in hand, play Inflame first so the Demon Form tick adds on top of the extra Strength.
• Upgraded Upper Cut still costs 2 but is worth upgrading — the Weak + Vulnerable double debuff with Paper Krane turns it into 4 free Strength per play. :::
