Recommended Choice
Cinder Tea has the best value for money. Strength +2 lasting 5 battles lifts the floor on every Attack card you own. 150 Gold is a steep investment, but if you have multi-hit Attacks, the damage gain per battle is enormous and returns more than the investment.
Bone Tea is cheap at 50 Gold, and having every card in the opening hand upgraded is a huge effect. If the next battle is an Elite or Boss, the damage and Block gains from upgrades really pay off. Ideally you save it for the fight right before a tough enemy rather than spending it on a normal battle.
Uncouth Tea is the only free option, but 2 Dazed cards are a serious draw-clog. Dazed wastes one card slot when it shows up in hand, effectively hurting hand efficiency across 2 turns. In many situations even if you have zero Gold, leaving is the safer call.
Strategy
- Cinder Tea's Strength +2 applies on top of every Attack card. If you swing 3 times in a turn, that is +6 damage; on multi-hit cards it adds per hit, so the more attacks you throw, the bigger the upside
- The trick with Bone Tea is to check the map and time when to use it. Buy it without hesitation if the next node is an Elite or Boss. Using it before a normal battle is not worth 50 Gold
- Unless you have a draw-heavy deck that cycles through hands quickly, the downside of Uncouth Tea's Dazed is too severe. The default answer is to skip it
- With 50 to 149 Gold, the choice comes down to Bone Tea or leaving. Decide based on whether a tough enemy is coming up on the map
- Cinder Tea purchased in Act 1 gets the Strength buff on essentially every remaining fight, maximizing its value
