[STS2] Necrobinder Tips & FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I don't understand the relationship between Doom and Osti

Doom is Necrobinder's signature mechanic in STS2. You stack Doom counters on enemies and trigger lethal effects once the count hits the threshold. Osti (your companion) acts automatically every turn and scales with relics like the Bone Flute. Osti can handle both offense and defense, so treat them as a way to cover gaps left by your main cards.

Q. What is the Soul deck?

A specialized subdeck unique to Necrobinder. Specific cards (Spirit Split, Burial, etc.) add Souls to your deck that you can draw and play during combat. Most Soul cards are 0-cost with strong effects, and the Death Mask relic makes them easy to draw each turn.

Q. What is the difference between Exude and Sacrifice?

Exude permanently removes the card. Sacrifice spends HP to gain a powerful effect (such as the Sacrifice card itself). Necrobinder's Ethereal cards are Exuded automatically at end of turn, so treat them as single-use resources and plan around that.

Overlooked Synergies

  • Reaper Form + Oblivion: Once Reaper Form puts Necrobinder into "Reaper mode," you can spam lethal effects through Oblivion or The Hour
  • Nowhere to Run + Doom Stack: Apply Doom to every enemy first, then sweep the board with Nowhere to Run — a very strong combo
  • Doom Stack + Day of Reckoning: Land Day of Reckoning on enemies already loaded with Doom and the lethal checks fire in sequence
  • Shadow Cloak + Defense: Shadow Cloak generates Block automatically each turn. Combined with Osti's offense it keeps offense and defense balanced

Advanced Techniques

  • Prioritize Osti scaling: Picking up the Bone Flute (+2 to Osti attacks) early dramatically improves your overall damage efficiency
  • Ethereal management: Because Ethereal cards Exude at end of turn, plan your plays so you never leave them idle in hand
  • Where to stack Doom: Focus Doom on the highest-threat target — typically the strongest elite or boss in the fight
  • When to use Neurosurge: A Power that randomly upgrades cards in your deck. Upgrading your starter cards gives your early game a huge stability boost
