Rating
Landslide is an A-tier evolved ball crafted from Stone and Earthquake. Its core mechanic is self-sacrifice zone deployment: the ball destroys itself on the first enemy it hits, instantly creating a persistent damage-over-time area at the point of impact.
The tradeoff is clear — you lose the ball permanently, but the landslide zone left behind deals continuous area damage for its full duration. Against slow-moving or stationary enemies (especially bosses), this creates enormous total damage output from a single shot. Against fast or mobile enemies, the zone may be more difficult to leverage.
Stone's high first-hit multiplier contributes an initial burst when Landslide fires, and Earthquake's zone-setting nature provides the persistent AOE. Together they form a "fire and forget trap" with meaningful setup potential in skilled hands.
How to Obtain
- Recipe: Stone + Earthquake
Both parents are strong individually. Commit to Landslide when your build benefits from semi-permanent damage zones rather than continuous bouncing ball output.
When to Pick
- Boss fights where you can plant the zone under the boss for full duration
- Dense enemy clusters that will remain in the zone
- Builds with multiple ball slots where losing one ball to zone deployment is acceptable
- Stages with chokepoints where enemies funnel through predictably
Best Characters
| Character | Synergy | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Zone-control builds | S | Pair with movement-denying effects to keep enemies inside the zone |
| High ball count builds | A | More Landslide placements carpet the field with overlapping damage zones |
| Boss-specialist builds | A | Bosses' limited mobility means the zone runs its full duration reliably |
Recommended Passives
| Passive | Synergy |
|---|---|
| Zone damage up | Increases Landslide's per-second tick damage |
| Zone duration extension | Landslide remains active longer, dealing more total damage |
| Zone radius increase | Larger coverage — harder for enemies to avoid |
| Stone damage up | Boosts the initial hit burst when the ball lands |
| Multi-shot / extra ball | Fire multiple Landslides at once to cover multiple zones |
Tips
- Plant under bosses — bosses move rarely; a well-placed Landslide at a boss's feet can run its entire duration for maximum DPS
- Aim choke points — corridor zones or path bottlenecks keep enemies in the zone involuntarily
- Combine with slows — pairing Landslide with slow or freeze effects keeps enemies in the zone longer
- Account for the sacrifice — losing the ball is intentional; ensure your build has enough other balls so one less projectile doesn't leave you vulnerable
TL;DR
Landslide converts a Stone + Earthquake hit into a self-sacrificing zone placement that deals persistent AOE damage per second. A-tier trap ball. Strongest in boss fights and choke points with slow/freeze support.
