Wand Building
Tips and examples for effective wand builds
Wand Core Parameters
Every wand has six key parameters.
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Shuffle | ON: spells fire in random order each cycle. OFF: fire left to right |
| Cast Delay | Wait time between spells (seconds) |
| Recharge Time | Wait after the last spell before the cycle restarts (seconds) |
| Mana Max | Maximum mana the wand can hold |
| Mana Charge Speed | Mana regenerated per second |
| Capacity | Number of spell slots |
Shuffle OFF Wands — Predictable and Powerful
With shuffle OFF, spells fire in left-to-right order. After the last slot fires, wraparound occurs and the wand restarts from slot 1 after recharge.
Core design: "modifier → projectile"
[Modifier spell] → [Projectile spell]
Example: Triple spark
| Slot | Spell | Role |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Triplicate Bolt | Triplicates the next spell |
| 2 | Spark Bolt w/ Explosion | Main projectile |
Slot 1 applies "×3 copies" to slot 2, firing three explosive sparks simultaneously.
Shuffle ON Wands — High DPS but Unpredictable
With shuffle ON, the spell firing order randomizes every cycle. While modifier-projectile pairing is unreliable, all spells fire evenly, yielding high sustained DPS.
Use shuffle OFF wands as your primary weapon early, then add shuffle ON wands as secondary DPS sources mid-to-late game.
Multicast Spells
Special modifier spells that fire multiple slots simultaneously.
| Spell | Effect |
|---|---|
| Double Spell | Cast next 2 spells at once |
| Triple Spell | Cast next 3 spells at once |
| Quadruple Spell | Cast next 4 spells at once |
Example: Explosion cluster
[Quadruple] → [Explosion Bolt] → [Explosion Bolt] → [Explosion Bolt] → [Explosion Bolt]
Four explosion bolts fire simultaneously, covering a wide area.
Exploiting Wraparound
On shuffle OFF wands, placing modifiers after a projectile means they wrap around and modify the projectile in the next cycle.
[Projectile] → [empty] → [Modifier A] → [Modifier B]
↑(next cycle after wraparound) — A and B apply to Projectile
Understanding wraparound is the key to advanced wand design.
Strong Early Wand Example: Spark Cannon
| Slot | Spell | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Spark Bolt | Main DPS |
| 2 | Spark Bolt | Main DPS |
| 3 | Double Spell | Doubles next |
| 4 | Spark Bolt | Main DPS |
| 5 | (empty) | Buffer |
With shuffle OFF, cast delay ≤ 0.08s, and recharge ≤ 0.2s, this fires 10+ sparks per second.
Common Wand-Building Mistakes
| Mistake | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Too much downtime | High recharge time | Choose wands with recharge < 0.5s |
| Mana runs out | Low mana charge speed | Prioritize wands with mana charge ≥ 500 |
| Self-explosion | Close-range explosive spells | Add homing or timer spells for safe distance |
| Modifier hits wrong spell | Shuffle ON misplacement | Test layout with shuffle OFF first |
