Biome Overview

Noita's dungeon runs vertically. As you descend, enemy strength, liquid danger, and treasure value all increase.

Surface (Hämis)

Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

Item Details
Main enemies Snakes, bats, Hiisi scouts
Main liquids Water, blood
Loot Starting wands, perks (surface caves), herbs

Tips:

  • Explore west from spawn to find a hidden shop early
  • Surface springs replenish your water flask
  • Always pick up every wand you find and compare cast delays

Mines (Underground 1–2)

Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

Item Details
Main enemies Snakes, bats, slimes, basic Hiisi soldiers
Main liquids Water, blood, mud
Loot Early wands, 1 perk, gold

Tips:

  • The first biome — enemies are manageable. Use this time to experiment with wand builds and spell combinations
  • Vertical shafts can cause significant fall damage; descend carefully
  • The Mines shop occasionally stocks useful early spells and perks

Coal Pits (Underground 3–4)

Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

Item Details
Main enemies Hiisi soldiers, Grunki, slime-type enemies
Main liquids Water, blood, mud, occasional poison
Loot Early wands, alchemy materials, 1–2 perks

Tips:

  • Avoid electric spells near water puddles unless you have Electricity Immunity
  • The Coal Pits shop is usually in the east — good for early wand upgrades

Snowy Depths (branch)

Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

Item Details
Main enemies Snow golems, winter beasts, freezing enemies
Main liquids Water, blood, frozen liquids
Loot Mid-tier wands, perks, alchemy materials

Tips:

  • A branch area that generates alongside the Coal Pits, off the Main Path
  • Frozen terrain is slippery and requires careful movement
  • Skipping is a viable option if you want to rush, but it offers good perk and material opportunities

Hiisi Base (Underground 5–6)

Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

Item Details
Main enemies Hiisi robots, electric soldiers, Mestarien Mestari (boss)
Main liquids Oil, brine (electrified water), toxic sludge
Loot Mid-tier wands, electric spells, 2–3 perks

Tips:

  • Oil ignites from fire and causes explosions. Watch the floor when using explosive wands
  • Brine creates electrified zones on contact with water — detour required without Electricity Immunity
  • Immunity perks to grab here: Electricity Immunity and Explosion Immunity are both high-value

Underground Jungle (Underground 7–8)

Difficulty: ★★★★☆

Item Details
Main enemies Venomous snakes, poison spiders, holy warriors, Lukki Mestari (boss)
Main liquids Toxic sludge everywhere, acid pools, corrosive liquid
Loot Strong wands, rare spells, alchemy materials

Tips:

  • Toxic sludge pools are everywhere — Toxin Immunity is nearly mandatory here
  • Acid dissolves terrain and deals massive damage on contact
  • Lukki Mestari (spider-type boss) clings to walls and spreads slime. Retreat upward and fire from long range

The Vault (Underground 9–10)

Difficulty: ★★★★☆

Item Details
Main enemies Heavily armored guards, mechanical enemies
Main liquids Toxic sludge, oil, explosive liquid
Loot Strong wands, high-rarity spells

Tips:

  • Enemy HP and damage increase significantly from the Jungle. Focus on wand DPS
  • Explosive liquids are scattered throughout — Explosion Immunity greatly improves survivability
  • Hidden rooms occasionally contain high-value spells

Temple of the Art (Underground 11–12)

Difficulty: ★★★★★

Item Details
Main enemies Mages, golems, ancient guardians
Main liquids Lava, magical blood, explosive liquid
Loot Best spells, Orbs, endgame wands

Tips:

  • Lava floods floors and ceilings — Fire Immunity is effectively required
  • Each Orb collected changes the endgame route
  • For the final boss Kolmisilmä, a large spider-like creature at the deepest level, bring a high-DPS wand and multiple immunity perks

The Laboratory (deepest)

Difficulty: ★★★★★

Item Details
Main enemies Top-tier magical creatures, experiment entities
Main liquids Various explosive and corrosive liquids
Loot Endgame content, final boss

Tips:

  • Located at the very bottom of the Main Path; the final area of the game
  • Enter with a full set of immunities and your strongest wand build
