Chikichi

When Sacrificed, summon TailsFour

Chikichi

Basic Info

  • Tribe: Shademancers
  • Attack: 2
  • HP: 2
  • Counter: 3
  • Effect: When Sacrificed, summon Chikani

Rating

S-tier sacrifice enabler. Chikichi is the entry point of the Shademancer Shade chain: Chikichi → Chikani → Chikasan → Chikashi → Chikagoru. Each time one of these Shades is Sacrificed (killed by an allied effect), the next stronger Shade appears. The net cost of "sacrificing" Chikichi is zero — you spend a 2/2 and receive a larger Shade in return — and the chain continues until exhausted. Every link in that chain triggers Dregg (+2 Attack per Sacrifice), Devicro (absorbs sacrificed Attack), Van Jun's summon aura, and any other on-sacrifice effects simultaneously. Even a single run through the chain can generate 5+ trigger events from one card slot.

How to Use

Chikichi's role is pure sacrifice fuel. With 2 HP he dies easily, and with Counter 3 he's fast enough to contribute a couple of hits before you sacrifice him. The ideal moment: trigger a sacrifice item (Skull Mist Tea, Punchfist Charm's source, etc.) on Chikichi when Dregg, Devicro, or Van Jun are already on the board. All payoffs fire simultaneously.

One critical rule: enemies killing Chikichi does not advance the chain. Only allied effects count as Sacrifice. Placing Chikichi in the front row and letting enemies kill him wastes the chain entirely. You need a dedicated sacrifice trigger to progress the Shade sequence.

Once Chikani appears, use him as both a combat unit and the next sacrifice target. Let Chikani absorb a hit or two — he has higher base stats than Chikichi — then sacrifice him for the next trigger wave. The chain is self-sustaining as long as you have sacrifice triggers available.

Advanced Techniques

The chain order: Chikichi → Chikani → Chikasan → Chikashi → Chikagoru. Each Shade has progressively higher stats; the later Shades are genuine combat units. Chikagoru is durable enough to front-line for several turns. Don't rush — let each Shade tank before sacrificing.

Summoned Shades lose 1 HP per activation (Summoned keyword). A Shade dying to its own Summoned HP drain does NOT count as Sacrifice — the chain breaks. Watch the HP carefully and sacrifice before the HP drain finishes the Shade naturally.

Charms on Chikichi are lost when he's sacrificed. The appearing Chikani starts clean. The one exception: Bom Skull Charm fires damage at sacrifice time, giving the sacrifice itself a damage payoff before Chikichi disappears.

Van Jun + Chikichi chain is enormous. Van Jun applies her permanent Attack aura to every summoned unit. Each new Shade that appears under Van Jun generates another permanent Attack bonus trigger — five Shades means five separate aura applications.

Crown on Chikichi is wasted. Always Crown the payoff receivers (Dregg, Devicro, Van Jun) instead.

Good Synergy Cards & Charms

  • Skull Mist Tea — sacrifice trigger item; kills Chikichi on demand for reliable chain activation with full control of timing
  • Dregg — gains +2 Attack per Sacrifice; the full Chikichi chain alone can grant Dregg +10 Attack
  • Devicro — absorbs the sacrificed unit's Attack on each Sacrifice; Chikichi contributes +2 per link
  • Van Jun — permanent Attack aura on all summoned units; each new Shade in the chain generates another buff trigger
  • Groff — triggers on Sacrifice; the full chain gives Groff five free activations
  • Bom Skull Charm — deals damage when Chikichi is destroyed; makes the sacrifice itself deal bonus damage
