Rating

A-tier Dregg enabler. Egg is not a combat card — 0 Attack, Counter 0 — but his 8 HP gives him serious front-row durability that makes him valuable even before his transformation. When Egg is destroyed, Dregg appears immediately in his place: an S-tier x3 Frenzy carry who also gains +2 Attack whenever any ally is sacrificed or defeated. Egg's destruction itself is the first trigger event that can fuel Dregg's scale-up.

The tier placement reflects Dregg's ceiling, not Egg's standalone value. Egg alone is a very sturdy wall with no offensive output. Egg in a run with Dregg in the companion pool (or already drafted) is the start of one of the strongest damage pipelines in the game.

How to Use

Place Egg in the front row as your primary tank. His 8 HP absorbs multiple hits and buys time for your backline attackers to deal damage. When enemies eventually bring Egg down — or you intentionally sacrifice him — Dregg appears. If Dregg is already on your board (drafted as a second companion), Egg's destruction gives Dregg the +2 Attack trigger from the defeated ally effect.

Crown Egg rather than Dregg when drafting both. Egg on the board from fight start means Dregg enters play earlier once Egg is destroyed. Dregg inherits Crown status on re-entry, so the efficiency loss from crowning Egg is temporary.

If your run has sacrifice triggers (Skull Mist Tea, sacrifice charms), you can deliberately destroy Egg at the optimal moment — for example, right before a boss fight to start that fight with Dregg at full stats.

Van Jun's summon aura fires when Dregg is summoned by Egg's destruction, giving Dregg +2 Attack and +2 HP immediately on entry. This makes the Egg → Dregg transition significantly stronger.

Good Synergy Cards & Charms

  • Dregg — Dregg is the entire point; Egg's destruction summons him and provides his first trigger event
  • Van Jun — applies +2 Attack and +2 HP to Dregg when he's summoned via Egg's destruction
  • Sacrifice triggers (Skull Mist Tea) — let you control exactly when Egg is destroyed, timing Dregg's entry for maximum impact
  • HP-up charms on Egg — keep Egg alive longer as a tank, delaying Dregg's entry until optimal timing
  • Nom Stompy — Egg's destruction counts as a card break event, advancing Nom Stompy's counter reduction
