Tusk

While active, add 3 Teeth to all allies

Tusk

Basic Info

  • Tribe: Shademancers
  • Attack: 2
  • HP: 5
  • Counter: 5
  • Effect: While active, all allies have 3 Teeth

Rating

S-tier passive Teeth aura. While Tusk is alive, every ally on your board has 3 Teeth — meaning every time any ally is hit, the attacker takes 3 damage back. The community puts this at "3 damage teeth on everything is very valuable in providing a lot of damage for little turn investment. Helps a lot of units that get benefits on kill, such as Big Berry too." The math: if three allies absorb 2 hits each in a fight, Tusk generates 18 free passive damage without a single Counter activation from any of them. He's available across tribes as a cross-tribe pickup, making him equally effective in Snowdweller, Shademancer, and Clunkmaster runs.

The dependency is survival. Tusk dying ends the aura for the rest of the fight. At 5 HP with no inherent defensive utility, protecting him with Shell or positioning is mandatory for sustained value.

How to Use

Place Tusk in the back row and keep him there. He contributes 2 Attack on Counter 5 as a secondary source, but his combat stats are not the point — his aura is. Every turn the aura is active, passive Teeth damage accumulates across every enemy attack against any ally. Fights where enemies hit frequently become dramatically more favorable with Tusk alive.

Lumin Ring on Tusk changes his aura from Teeth 3 to Teeth 4 to all allies. Against high-frequency attackers (enemies with Counter 2 or Frenzy), the difference is significant: each additional Teeth point adds 1 damage per hit, and with 6+ hits per fight across all allies, Lumin Ring adds 6+ bonus damage from a single charm.

Front-row allies with high HP benefit most from Tusk's aura because they absorb the most hits. Big Berry (absorbs multiple hits per fight) works extremely well with Tusk — Berry's HP lets him take many hits, each returning 3 Teeth damage to the attacker, and Berry's healing redistributes any overflow. This front-back pairing is a staple combination.

Advanced Techniques

Tusk + Big Berry is the foundational Snowdweller combo. Big Berry tanks the front, absorbs hit after hit, and each hit returns 3 Teeth damage. Berry's healing keeps him in the front, extending the Teeth stream. The two cards alone generate substantial passive damage without any investment beyond drafting both.

Lumin Ring converts Teeth 3 → Teeth 4. The multiplicative effect of Lumin across many hits makes it higher value on Tusk than on most other units. Prioritize Lumin Ring on Tusk if both are available.

Tusk does not give himself Teeth. His own attacks are independent of the aura. His combat role (2 Attack, Counter 5) is a secondary bonus, not the plan.

Protect Tusk like a leader. Shell items, healing, rear positioning, HP charms — all spent on Tusk are worth it. The aura value per fight is high enough that keeping him alive for 3–4 extra turns justifies significant defensive investment.

Good Synergy Cards & Charms

  • Big Berry — absorbs many hits per fight; each hit returns 3 Teeth damage to the attacker
  • Lumin Ring — upgrades aura from Teeth 3 to Teeth 4 on all allies; highest-value single charm on Tusk
  • HP-up charms on Tusk — more HP = more fights with aura active = more total Teeth damage generated
  • Roibos — gains Attack when any ally is hit; Tusk's Teeth encourages enemies to hit often, feeding Roibos's effect
  • Shell appliers — keep Tusk alive through early fights before you can chart him with HP bonuses
