必杀技
A technique that sends forth a spinning fan. Hold down the button to change its properties. Useful for attacking opponents at range.
How to Use
OD Kachousen (236PP) is Mai's projectile that launches her offense. After the first hit lands the second fan follows with a delay, forcing a guessing game. Use it to establish pressure from mid-range and follow up with Drive Rush or a Forward Step mix-up.
How to Counter
OD Kachousen sets up Mai's offense after the first hit — the second fan arrives with a delay. Knowing how to respond makes the matchup significantly more manageable.
Countering the first hit:
- Do not walk back
- Walking back increases Mai's frame advantage on block and prevents the options below from working
- Perfect Parry
- If you block the first hit up close, you can Perfect Parry and punish — worth the attempt since you must accept the first hit
- Vertical jump
- At mid-range, vertical jump is the simplest counter — it avoids OD Kachousen cleanly
- Mai's reversal kick has a short horizontal hitbox, making it hard to anti-air a vertical jump
- Jumping after walking back makes you easier to anti-air, so stay in place before jumping
Countering the second hit:
- OD invincible reversal
- When Mai Drive Rushes after the first hit, an invincible reversal confirms at around mid-range — do not miss it
- Drive Impact
- Loses if Mai Drive Rushes, but confirms if she Forward Dashes instead, adding risk to her step
- Back dash
- If Mai chooses a throw, the back dash escapes and it becomes your turn to attack
- Trade hit
- Inputting a knockdown move (e.g. your invincible reversal) means: if it hits Mai, her offense ends; if it is blocked, the second fan's hit causes a knockdown with no follow-up combo
Recommended counters
- After blocking the first hit of OD Kachousen, if you are close, input a light normal buffered into your invincible reversal — this stops Drive Rush cold and the reversal confirms
- Depending on the distance, a Forward Dash can also be punished, so keep it as an option
