Standing Medium Kick (Hitman Flicker) is Ed's premier mid-range poke. It has excellent reach and is cancel-able into specials, making it his primary tool for poking, whiff-punishing, and checking an opponent's forward movement. The Cancel Drive Rush off this move is not a true blockstring, so opponents can insert an OD reversal — keep that in mind.
How to Use
- Neutral poke: Use MK to control the mid-range space. Its range outclasses most opponents' standing normals at this distance.
- Whiff punish: Walk forward slightly and use MK to punish an opponent's whiffed normal before they can recover.
- Cancel into special: On hit, cancel into Light or Medium Psycho Flicker (236LK/MK) for extra damage, or into Psycho Blitz (214LP/MP) for a knockdown.
How to Counter
MK has long range and is excellent as a poke or whiff-punisher. Ed can cancel it into various specials to continue his offense.
